Overview
800Biltong came about in 2000 when Larry Burnett started making Biltong for his own personal use. He found it difficult to get good Biltong. "I tried everyone's biltong, the spices were not consistent and most of the time I was really disappointed with what I got." He made Biltong the traditional way, with spices that he flew in from Cape Town. After a lot of experimenting, he finally has a real winner. Once the word got out, people asked him to make some for them since more and more people wanted the authentic South African flavor.

The USDA wrote the book on 800BILTONG spices, formula and process.
Both the biltong and boerewors use USDA meat and both are produced in USDA approved plants, under the HACCP Plan and meet all compliance criteria.
