Now this is a store that you must see! THE SOUTH AFRICAN SHOP in the town centre of Maidenhead in Berkshire is the largest store specialising in South African (and Zimbabwean!) products in the UK with the widest range available.
First opened in August 1999, it is now in its seventh year. It is a light and airy department store designed for easy strolling and shopping with consumer products from all over Southern Africa ranging from food to alcohol to sportswear to arts and crafts to travel and humorous books to CDs to videos. The list is endless.
The whoops of joy when new customers enter the front door for the first time says it all.
And the fact that we usually have Radio Highveld playing in the store all the way from Johannesburg has had many a tear coursing down South African cheeks.
